More about Tom
I left the RAF to join Trust House Forte Leisure as a graduate management trainee.
Spent my happy, hard working management life in hotels, major conference venues, multi-leisure complexes and five star health, fitness and racquets businesses.
From regional appointments I then took on national roles in operational controls, business systems development, audit and fraud management.
In 1999 I was appointed as Whitbread regional director and spokesman for the North East representing all of the plc divisions & businesses. Marriott UK, TGI Fridays, Premier Travel Inns, Beer Company, Costa Coffee, Pizza Hut and David Lloyd Leisure were just a few of the Whitbread brands.
Retired from Whitbread in 2006 aged 57 and moved to Madeira, Portugal in 2007 with Lynn, my wife and partner of the last 34 years.
Hobbies are food & wines, music, Apple computers and photography. I still swim and snorkel in the Atlantic on a regular basis.
Useless fact - I currently weigh only 6 lbs more than when I was in Salalah. Unfortunately I still look forty seven years older.
